SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION

Note:  LESIE McCAIN was the second wife of JOHN WILLIAM CHAMPION.  She had been married twice before.  Her first husband was GEORGE GRACE, by whom she had two children—(1) LELA GRACE (born 1898 in MS and (2) STELLA GRACE (born 1900 in MS).  Her second husband had been W. M. McCAIN.  Though her name was spelled “LESIE” on the census report, T. F. CHAMPION, Sr. remembered her being called “LISA.”  She married JOHN W. CHAMPION on 12 Apr 1905.  (Copy of original marriage record on file.)
